Field Service Technician (Remote Field Office, Northern California)Bloom Energy, a solid oxide fuel cell company, is looking for a Field Service Technician to join its world-class team. This individual should be a dynamic professional who is looking for a rewarding future in one of today's most exciting technologies.Location: Large Service District ("San Francisco, Bay Area Region")Role and Responsibilities:Provide fuel cell service during field visit dispatchesOperate a service vehicle safelyCreate daily workflows for oneself from a list of scheduled tasks (regularly assigned to work autonomously)Manage on-site preventative maintenance, repair, test, and diagnostic tasksFollow company procedures and protocolsDiagnose errors or technical problems and determine/implement proper solutionsCooperate with a technical team and share information across the organizationComprehend and follow customer access requirementsMaintain service vehicle and spare part inventoryMaintain/build positive relationships with customersProduce timely and detailed service reports as requiredOther responsibilities as assignedRequired to reside within the Service District (Large Service District: "San Francisco, Bay Area Region")Training: Two initial training sessions of up to four weeks each in Sunnyvale, CAEducation and Experience:High school diploma & 6 years' experience in electrical, process controls, or electro-mechanical fields;- Or –Technical diploma, Journeymen Certification, Electrical Technician Certification in a technical field and relevant industry experience of 4 years (electrical technician, electronics technician, field service, technician, test engineer, etc.)- Or –5 years or more relevant experience in commercial electrical, combined with electrical-related military experience (e.g. Navy Nuclear Electronics/Electrical Technician, or other technical position, military certified electrical technician, Gas Turbine Electrical Technician)Skills and Experience:Strong electrical troubleshooting/diagnostic skills requiredFamiliar with safety standards, especially those related to electrical work (OSHA & NFPA 70E)Prior experience as an electrical technician or electronics technician working with any of the following technologies: three-phase systems, uninterruptible power supplies, electrical generation and distribution systems, power electronics, automatic transfer switches, and microprocessor-based control platformsExperience with various electrical/electronic test and measurement equipmentOperate, maintain, and troubleshoot fluid systems, including natural gas, water, air, and associated balance-of-plant equipmentAble to read and interpret electrical single line diagrams and blueprintsExperience with performing equipment maintenance in accordance with ANSI/NETA standards for Electrical PowerMechanical system aptitude, to include troubleshooting/repair skillsHighly motivated and able to work autonomouslyDemonstrates sound judgment in the resolution of complex problemsTeam player who exhibits a high level of integrity and professionalismCommunicates written and verbal English effectivelyAble to execute against written and verbal procedures and sequenced work instructionsAble to regularly handle equipment up to 50lbs., occasionally may lift up to 70 lbs.Able to reach, squat, bend, and twist during the work dayAble to use a ladder or stepstool regularlyAble to facilitate 24X7 on-call dutyAble to facilitate shift work as neededAble to regularly work alternative schedules (one week/month of Wednesday-Sunday, for example)Able to regularly support overtime to achieve quarterly goalsAble to regularly travel (drive) throughout a large Service District ("San Francisco, Bay Area Region")Able to travel occasionally to other US and international destinationsAble to maintain a driving record in good standingSalary Ranges: $28.02 - $40.32
