Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical Floor care in Utica, New York. This position involves providing high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced hospital environment, primarily focused on adults with common diagnoses such as cancer, hematology, nephrology, endocrine disorders, gastrointestinal issues, and dermatology. The role requires flexibility to float between units and adherence to unit and facility protocols.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Certifications include current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and chemotherapy certification. Valid nursing licenses with active New York state license and all other RN licenses must be verified via NURSYS report. Drivers license with address matching demographics. Up-to-date resume demonstrating at least 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical and Oncology, with documented travel experience. EMR experience with EPIC.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with IV pumps, NG tubes, chest tubes, specialty beds such as sand beds, and float rotation experience. Additional certification or experience related to Oncology is preferred.
• Additional Information: The unit covers a variety of common diagnoses including cancer, hematology, ESRD, diabetes, gastrointestinal, abdominal pain, dermatology, and general medicine. The unit has 56 beds, and the environment involves handling adult patients. Scrub color required is navy blue. Floating between units is required as part of the role.
