About the Position

Job Title: Hemodialysis RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Dialysis Nurse Duration: 12 months Shift: M-W-F Hours per Shift: 13 hours Experience: Minimum of 6 months of Hemodialysis experience License: Must maintain current, active license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado Certifications: Must maintain current CPR certification, Must maintain current ACLS certification Must-Have: Minimum of nursing diploma or Associate's degree in nursing; BSN or higher preferred Description: Urgent need for Hemodialysis RN. Work where others vacation. Shifts are M-W-F from 5 am to 6 pm. May include holiday coverage if the unit is operating. Performs daily dialysis care and supervision for in-center, acute, and peritoneal dialysis. Responsible for pre-assessment, ongoing assessment, and post-assessment of the dialysis client. Retains overall accountability and responsibility for patient care. Demonstrates advanced technical skills to set parameters and monitor readings with dialysis machinery. Accesses fistula or shunt with care to avoid clot formation. This function is highly specialized. Employees are hired for the skill and ability to perform this function. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have excellent language, grammar, and spelling skills. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, percentages, and decimals. Maintains patient, employee, and hospital confidentiality at all times. Discusses patient, employee, or hospital business only with appropriate parties who have a bona fide need to know. Communicates only the minimum amount of information necessary regarding protected health information as identified by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
