Medical Associates Rheumatology department is looking to add a full-time RN/LPN to the team. Core duties of this role include: Manage patient triage calls to evaluate rheumatology conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, psoriatic arthritis, and other autoimmune or musculoskeletal diseases. Individual will work closely with Rheumatology providers to ensure timely and effective treatment. Coordinate and schedule in-office and outpatient procedures (e.g., pain maintenance, infusions, imaging studies) in collaboration with providers and support staff. Coordinate and manage prior authorization requests for medications and procedures. Work closely with physicians, insurance companies, and patients to ensure timely approvals and minimize treatment delays. Schedule: Monday - Friday, 80 hours per pay period Location: West Campus Benefits Package Includes: Single or Family Health Insurance with discounted premium rates for wellness program participation. 401k with immediate matching (50% on the dollar up to 7% of pay + additional annual Profit Sharing) Flexible Paid Time Off Program (24 days off/year) Medical and Dependent Care Flex Spending Accounts Life insurance, Long Term Disability Coverage, Short Term Disability Coverage, Dental Insurance, etc. Job Duties: Collaborate with health care team using telehealth and triage decision making tools and protocols to direct/perform independent nursing assessment and intervention. Integrate the nursing process in all patient contact, care, diagnostic testing, and treatments. Collect pertinent patient health care data, review medical records and confer/collaborate with physician/mid-level providers to ensure complex patient needs are met. Ensure the plan reflects current rules, regulations and evidenced based standards and practices. Communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, and external customers to share the decision making process and influence the expected outcome. Promote patient wellness and provide patient education. Document care provided, including but not limited to: assessment, interventions, medication, patient education, and assist with integrity of medical record. Demonstrate flexibility in performing other additional duties of patient care. Provide input for devising systems to improve quality and efficiency of patient care and workflow. Participate in required meetings. Maintain an office environment that is safe, neat, organized, and supplied with necessary equipment, instruments, supplies, and educational materials. Ensure equipment is functioning safely and properly. Perform cleaning and maintenance of equipment according to guidelines. Facilitate reimbursement of services provided, including but not limited to, charge tickets, referrals, and insurance requirements. Complete all other assigned projects and duties. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Experience - From one to two years of similar or related experience. On-the-job training provided, no Rheumatology experience required! Education - Equivalent to a two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study or certification. Valid LPN/RN Licensure with the ability to practice in Iowa. Interpersonal Skills - A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary. Other Skills - Keyboarding skills and use of electronic equipment. Use and operate a wide variety of diagnostic and medical equipment. Use personal protection safety equipment including gloves, lab coats, gowns, goggles, and face masks/shields. #J-18808-Ljbffr
