Introduction We are looking for a Registered Nurse Cardiac Specialty Unit at Overland Park Regional Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare. Job Summary The Cardiac Specialty Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care and advocates for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience. Responsibilities Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status. Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider. Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner. Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response. Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients. Qualifications Graduate of school of nursing required. Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation. Current BCLS. Ability to achieve and maintain ACLS certification within 90 days of hire.
