Locations: Houston, TX 77005
Pay Rate: $11/hour during training; $12/hour after training
Shift:

• Flexible schedule with availability 6:00 AM-4:00 PM
• Must be available to work 6 days per week
• 1 day off per week
• Weekend availability is required

Job Summary

We are looking for a dependable Produce Associate to work for one of our food-service vendors. This position is responsible for preparing fresh fruits and vegetables, making prepared foods such as guacamole, maintaining a clean and organized workstation, and ensuring high-quality products are available for customers.

Responsibilities

• Cut, peel, slice, chop, and prepare fresh fruits and vegetables
• Prepare guacamole and other fresh/prepared food items according to recipes and guidelines
• Set up and maintain an organized workstation
• Keep the work area, tools, and equipment clean and sanitized throughout the shift
• Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures
• Monitor product freshness and quality
• Properly package, label, and display prepared produce items
• Restock products and supplies as needed
• Follow company recipes, portioning, and preparation standards
• Safely use knives, cutting tools, and food-preparation equipment
• Follow vendor policies and procedures
• Communicate with store and vendor personnel as needed
• Perform other duties related to produce preparation and merchandising

Qualifications

• Previous food preparation, produce, grocery, or kitchen experience preferred
• Ability to safely use knives and basic food-preparation equipment
• Strong attention to cleanliness and food safety
• Reliable and punctual
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Comfortable standing for extended periods
• Able to repeatedly lift, carry, bend, reach, and move products as needed
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Weekend availability required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift
• Ability to lift and move boxes/products as required
• Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements
• Ability to work safely with knives and food-preparation equipment

Food safety and sanitation are a top priority in this position.
