Overview RN- Cardiac Care Unit - PRN, Nights Location: Piedmont Eastside, Snellville, GA 18‑bed cardiac unit specializing in the care of cardiac and vascular patients. Typical patients include those with chest pain, cardiac dysrhythmias, CHF exacerbation, hypertensive emergency, pulmonary embolism/DVT, AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy, and other vascular conditions. The unit is an intermediate/step‑down unit and our nursing staff works closely with cardiology and vascular teams to provide exceptional care. Responsibilities The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the life cycle using nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. The nurse functions within organizational policies and procedures, demonstrating professional growth and accountability, maintaining standards of practice, and coordinating patient‑care activities of all assigned staff to ensure quality nursing care. Essential Functions Performs patient assessments, including collection of physical, psychosocial, and health history data. Evaluates the developmental age of the patient during assessments, treatments, and education. Organizes patient data into a care plan, identifies additional information needed, and makes decisions based on identified needs. Identifies expected patient outcomes. Carries out the plan of care to achieve desired outcomes. Provides patient care specific to the setting and identified needs, ensuring appropriateness to disease severity or impairment. Oversees activities of ancillary and support team members. Identifies teaching opportunities and provides resources necessary to achieve patient educational goals. Communicates issues or concerns to the Charge Nurse, Clinical Manager, and/or physician as appropriate. Documents patient care and concerns in the patient record. Qualifications Education Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing – Required Bachelor’s Degree – Preferred Work Experience No experience required; new graduates of a nursing program eligible – Required Nursing experience in a hospital setting – Preferred 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions – Preferred Licenses and Certifications RN – Registered Nurse – Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure; current license in Georgia – Required BCLS – Basic Life Support – Required Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable – Preferred Addendum Cardiac Tele: Additional Required Certifications: ACLS Certification – Nurse residents or new nurses will complete certifications within 6 months of start date – Required Critical Care: Additional Required Certifications: ACLS Certification – Nurse residents or new nurses will complete certifications within 6 months of start date – Required Dialysis: Additional Required Certifications: CDN (Certified Dialysis Certificate) – Preferred Emergency Department: Additional Required Certifications: ACLS and PALS Certification – Nurse residents or new nurses will complete certifications within 6 months; experienced nurses have 6 months to obtain PALS – Required Infusion/Oncology: Additional Required Certifications: Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification prior to independent chemotherapy administration – Required Pediatrics: Additional Required Certifications: PALS Certification – Required Surgical Services: Additional Required Certifications: Pre‑Op/PACU/ENDO/CSU ACLS; PALS if unit cares for pediatric patients – Required Women’s Services: Additional Required Certifications: Labor & Delivery – ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, Mother/Baby – NRP, NICU – NRP, NAT – NRP, Nursery – NRP – Required within 180 days #J-18808-Ljbffr
