HR Specialist – Manufacturing

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an HR Specialist for a growing manufacturing organization in the Indianapolis area. This position is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys supporting employees, managing HR processes, and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Previous Human Resources experience within manufacturing is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary point of contact for employee questions related to HR, payroll, benefits, and workforce management.
• Provide exceptional customer service via phone, email, and case management systems.
• Process and maintain employee records in HRIS systems, including:
  • New hires
  • Terminations
  • Promotions
  • Compensation changes
  • Leave of absence administration
  • Benefits enrollments
  • Direct deposit and payroll updates
• Support administration of employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and wellness programs.
• Maintain accurate and confidential employee information.
• Assist employees and managers with HR system navigation and self-service tools.
• Investigate and resolve employee inquiries while ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and support ongoing HR initiatives.
• Collaborate with HR team members across multiple functional areas.

Qualifications

• Required: Previous Human Resources experience within a manufacturing environment.
• High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred.
• Experience supporting HR, payroll, benefits, employee records, or workforce administration.
• Experience with Workday, PeopleSoft, or other HRIS platforms preferred.
• Strong customer service and employee support skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience

• HR shared services or HR support center experience.
• Payroll and benefits administration exposure.
• Spanish language skills are a plus.
