Education and/or Experience :

• Highschool Diploma or GED, required
• Current ARRT Certification, required
• 3+ years Imaging/ARRT Experience, required
• Training and experience as a Medical Assistant

Pay and Benefits:

• Salary of $75,000 / year
• Monthly bonus program

Schedule and Locations:

• Full-time, ~40 hrs/week
• Traditional business hours Monday-Friday (with occasional evenings and weekends)
• This position could need to perform at any of our AFC Portland / Vancouver Metro Area locations, therefore reliable transportation is essential

General Position Summary:

The AFC Imaging Manager manages all aspects of the X Ray program at the AFC Portland Group of clinics. The key responsibilities are divided into 3 main areas:

1. Xray/Imaging Compliance
2. Shepherd the AFC LXMO education program & new graduates comp requirements
3. Provide technical coaching and supervision to the AFC LXMO/RT team

Imaging compliance responsibilities entail creating and maintaining standardized radiology compliance for all clinics and ongoing supervision of the LXMO/ARRT staff’s technical skills. Overall compliance responsibilities include items like ensuring that all clinic’s X-ray manuals are up to date, manuals meet or exceed federal compliance standards, all X-ray staff are routinely audited for quality assurance, and that an ongoing internal training program is developed and executed on for current X-ray staff.

The AFC LXMO education program is an OBMI approved program to train AFC employees to be able to fulfill the requirements for obtaining an LXMO license in Oregon. The position will lead and coordinate the coursework and lab for this course.

Occasionally, this position may be called upon to assist with imaging in one or more of the clinics. This involves providing clinical support to our providers by assisting with patient’s needs and obtaining diagnostic information via operating radiologic equipment to produce radiographs. The Rad Tech will also assist patients at registration and in the clinic rooms to ensure an optimal patient experience.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

• Managerial

• Foster the growth of the LXMO staff within AFC
• Shepard the AFC LXMO program (teach courses & practicals) based upon the approved Syllabus from OBMI
• Ensure follow up with the Director of the program regarding regulations & updates to the program
• Ongoing coaching for new and existing LXMO staff

• Radiology Technician:

• Perform X-Rays
• Perform medical assisting procedures under the supervision of physician or ACP
• Assist physician and physician assistant in exam rooms
• Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient’s chart
• Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician or physician assistant
• Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to Patients regarding radiology issues or questions when applicable

• Radiology Compliance:
  • Maintain & improve radiology compliance program to include (but not limited to):
    • Examine and Edit current Radiology Manual and Standards
    • Continued education for our AFC LXMO or RT Staff
    • Increase quality standards by tracking radiology staff images
    • Keep track of current and expired radiology badges, and licenses
    • Prepare and set clinics up for success re: potential random audits

Supervisory Responsibility : This position will be responsible for coaching and training the LXMO group in AFC Portland - working very closely with the direct Clinic Managers of these individuals.
