Restaurant Shift Leader is responsible for leading the restaurant team during assigned shifts to ensure smooth daily operations, excellent customer service, and high-quality food standards. This role oversees staff performance, manages cash handling procedures, and ensures that all operational processes run efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise team members during assigned shifts, providing direction, support, and coaching as needed
• Ensure high standards of customer service are maintained throughout the shift
• Oversee food preparation and presentation to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to Valentino’s standards
• Monitor overall restaurant operations to ensure efficiency, cleanliness, and organization
• Handle cash management responsibilities including cash drawers, deposits, and end-of-shift reconciliation
• Address and resolve customer concerns or issues in a professional and timely manner
• Ensure team members follow company policies, safety procedures, and health regulations
• Coordinate staff assignments and workflow to maintain smooth operations during busy periods
• Communicate important updates or operational issues to management

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant or food service experience required; supervisory experience preferred
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
• Basic math and cash handling skills
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 25–40 pounds
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen and dining environment
