Heavy Equipment Diesel Technician — Sarasota, FL

Picture your morning at a tight‑knit, family‑owned shop: a quick huddle with operators to review the day’s priorities, a pre‑trip inspection on a boom truck, then a call comes in—one of the trailer‑mounted concrete pumps is down at a jobsite. You grab your kit, diagnose a finicky hydraulic control, swap a component, verify pressures and electronics, and have the crew pouring again before lunch. Back at the shop, you log service notes, tackle a scheduled PM on a diesel flatbed, and collaborate with management on tomorrow’s repair plan. What you’ll take on

• Keep diesel trucks, trailer‑mounted concrete pumps, and other heavy equipment running through expert diagnostics and repair.
• Execute routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and thorough safety checks.
• Track down issues across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems and resolve them efficiently.
• Repair or replace worn parts, components, and assemblies to restore performance.
• Document accurate service records and communicate equipment status and repair needs.
• Respond to occasional field breakdowns to get assets back online quickly.
• Work to safety standards and applicable regulations on every task.
• Partner with operators and leadership to prioritize workloads and reduce downtime.

What you bring

• Hands‑on background as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic.
• Strong command of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Proven ability to diagnose and remedy mechanical faults quickly.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Basic personal hand tools preferred (not mandatory).
• Reliability, pride in workmanship, and sharp attention to detail.
• Comfort working independently and within a team.
• Physical capability to lift heavy parts and work in a hands‑on environment.

Bonus points

• Experience with concrete pumps or construction equipment.
• Welding/fabrication capabilities.
• Background with fleet maintenance programs.

Schedule, pay, and benefits

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, full‑time.
• Pay: $24/hour, depending on experience.
