Exceptional Children's Teacher

Position Title: Exceptional Children's Teacher Location: Tulls Creek Elementary School Job Type: Full-Time Reports To: Principal & Exceptional Children Director Start Date: Immediate Position Summary: Currituck County Schools is seeking a dedicated and passionate teacher to create a positive and engaging learning environment for students. The ideal candidate will inspire students to achieve their academic potential while fostering a love for learning. Key Responsibilities:
- Instruction: Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons aligned with state standards and curriculum guidelines.
- Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a respectful and safe classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Differentiation: Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet diverse learning needs and styles.
- Assessment: Utilize a variety of assessment tools to monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues, support staff, and parents to support student success.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional learning and participate in school initiatives.
- Community Involvement: Foster relationships with the community to enhance educational opportunities for students.
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
- Must be certified in Special Education.
- Valid North Carolina teaching license (or eligibility for licensure).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans and utilize various teaching strategies.
- Experience with technology integration in the classroom.
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction and inclusive practices.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
