Behavioral Health Consultant OPS

The Behavioral Health Consultant OPS works within the Florida Department of Children and Families' Substance Abuse and Mental Health Program, based in the Northeast Regional Office. This clinical role provides expertise to child protective investigators and case managers in identifying and addressing behavioral health conditions, particularly opioid use and substance misuse disorders, among parents involved in the child welfare system. The consultant educates staff on disorder recognition, treatment engagement, and recovery support while actively collaborating with investigators in the field and community service providers. Key qualifications Clinical expertise in behavioral health and substance use disorders, particularly opioid use disorder Ability to collaborate with child protective investigators and dependency case managers to improve family engagement and treatment access Knowledge of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and evidence-based practices for substance misuse Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects and engage professionally with internal and external stakeholders Willingness to work irregular hours and deploy to disaster-affected communities within 24-48 hours if needed #J-18808-Ljbffr
