Astria Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join our team! This position is located at our Astria Sunnyside Hospital in our Operating/Surgery Department.

Shift: 8 hour day shift. - More information will be provided.

What you get to do every day!

The Sterile Processing Technician works as a team member and is responsible for providing support to the surgical team by cleaning, sterilizing, and packaging instruments, maintaining inventory, and transporting supplies and equipment. You will:

• Preparing medical equipment and instruments for decontamination
• Operating equipment to clean, disinfect and decontaminate surgical instruments, medical devices and equipment
• Inspecting instruments and equipment for signs of damage and wear and tear
• Unpacking, checking and stocking new equipment, instruments and devices
• Delivering equipment and supplies to all areas of the facility
• Responding to emergency supply requests during surgical procedures
• Maintaining accurate records of when items undergo sterilization
• Monitoring temperature and humidity conditions within storage areas
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries
• Adheres to the core values and standards of the organization

Requirements

• High School Graduation or GED.

Preferred Qualifications and Education.

• Coursework/Training: Graduation from a Healthcare Central Service Program from an accredited educational institution.
• Certification for Central Sterilizing preferred upon hire or within 2 years of being hired.
