Description: The Registered Nurse is a professional who provides safe and competent quality care to a designated group of patients. The nurse delivers patient care by applying nursing theory and research. Assessment and evaluation of patient care needs are crucial responsibilities. Critical thinking skills are utilized in patient care management. Relevant assessment and intervention skills are integrated into nursing care delivery. Collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams is essential in developing, implementing, and evaluating care plans. Prioritization of patient care activities includes teaching, coaching, and planning for post-hospital care. Patient and caregiver education helps ensure understanding of care plans and promotes health. Effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members is important. Assignments are managed within the framework of Modified Primary Nursing, ensuring efficient resource allocation. The role involves modeling patient-centered care through various established protocols and practices. Patient values, preferences, and cultural diversity are considered in all aspects of care. A therapeutic relationship is established and maintained with patients and their families. Evidence-based practices are utilized to understand patients' perceptions of care. Service recovery initiatives are implemented for patient and family concerns. Demonstrating caring, respect, and active listening is fundamental to the role. Purposeful rounding is conducted to address patient needs and ensure satisfaction. Quality and safety in patient-centered care are prioritized. Clinical skills and knowledge relevant to patient safety are actively practiced. Process improvement strategies are implemented based on evidence to enhance care. Collaboration on quality improvement projects and research studies is essential. Compliance with quality and safety measures is expected. High-risk behaviors are identified and avoided to maintain a safe environment. Potential safety hazards are escalated as per institutional protocols. Documentation of nursing practice is completed in compliance with regulatory standards. Operational responsibilities may include charge nurse duties and inventory management. Coordination with nursing leadership ensures adequate supplies for patient care. Patient throughput is facilitated on a shift basis, promoting efficient care. Professional development activities support clinical competence and lifelong learning. A professional image and respectful communication with colleagues are maintained. Ethical principles guide decision-making for patients and families. Contributions to shared decision-making processes within nursing initiatives are encouraged. Knowledge relative to nursing roles and patient populations is continuously acquired.
