Job TitleInstalls new machines or heavy equipment and dismantles and installs machines or heavy equipment when changes in the plant layout are required.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Planning and laying out workInterpreting blueprints or other specificationsUsing a variety of hand tools and riggingMakes standard shop computations relating to stresses, strength of materials, and centers of gravityAligns and balances equipmentSelects standard tools, equipment and parts to be usedInstalls and maintains good order power transmission equipment such as drives and speed reducersGeneral HousekeepingOther duties as assignedKnowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements:Well rounded training and experience in the trade acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.Work Environment:Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extensionsOccasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc., but non to the point of being disagreeable. May involve minor safety hazards where likely result would be cuts, bruises, etc.Enrollment into Biological Personnel Reliability Program (BPRP) with continuous progressionContract Specific Disclaimer:The contractor shall be enrolled in BRPB as identified in TE-15.0, the TB Surveillance Program, and the Respiratory Protection Program.
