Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Surgical General Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum 1 year in related nursing specialty preferred License: Current RN License in state of employment or compact Certifications: BLS Certification required via AHA Must-Have: ACLS Certification required via AHA Description: Primary location assignment is designated, but must be willing to float to other locations as staffing needs require. Shift hours are from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM on four days a week. The competent nurse practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care with the ability to focus on long-range goals or plans. Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation. Meets expectations of applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice. Using the appropriate protocol, administers medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed. Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.
