Position Type: Co-Curricular/Activities Date Posted: 6/8/2026 Closing Date: 06/18/2026 Assistant Director – Bulldog Marching Band The Assistant Director will be directly responsible to the Marching Band Director and Fine Arts Division Head. Responsibilities Teach students to accurately execute drill coordinates to correspond with field show music. Play an integral role in the process of show design and planning throughout months leading up to fall season. Attend and supervise students at all rehearsals and performances of the Bulldog Marching Band, including Summer Band Camp. Attend staff meetings as called by the Marching Band Director. Supervise and guide sectional rehearsals. Assist in all rehearsals, providing musical and drill instruction when needed. Take part in Student Leadership workshop, interview and selection process. Build and maintain a positive, cooperative relationship with the Association of Music Parents, community, teaching staff, student body and administration. Maintain accurate records of student attendance and personal information. Coordinate distribution and management of student uniforms and all necessary accessories. Oversee field management and equipment with Student Leadership. Perform any other duties assigned by the Marching Band Director. Requirements Displays enthusiasm for working with students and for the marching band activity in general. Supports the Marching Band Director and all music and athletic department staff members. Accepts duties assigned by the Marching Band Director. Enforces the letter and intent of rules and regulations and the Code of Behavior with integrity. Dresses appropriately and arrives promptly for all functions of the Bulldog Marching Band. Qualifications Previous experience with marching band/music education preferred.
