Fire Alarm Inspector

Job Responsibilities Conduct routine inspections, testing, service, and preventive maintenance on electrical, sprinkler, suppression life safety product lines and similar manufacturer product lines. Test and inspect fire alarm systems for existing and new customer base. Maintain proper documentation for work performed using tools provided. Work with low voltage wiring and associated devices for the operation of low voltage equipment. Complete service acknowledgments with proper coding through communication devices such as laptops or hard copy. Follow and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule. Input, retrieve, and archive inspection documents via mobile device. Make minor repairs and programming changes to systems being inspected. Adhere to company safety policies and procedures. Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 70 lbs. Perform work in unusual or difficult positions (climbing ladders, scaffolding, high lift equipment). Work alternative shifts or weekends to meet customer needs. Maintain a clean and safe work area; perform all duties in a safe and professional manner. Qualifications Installation or service experience in testing and inspecting fire alarm equipment. Self‑starter; capable of working with little or no supervision. Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and ability to learn quickly. Capable of performing physical labor. Excellent communication skills. High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver’s license with a good driving record. Ability to work well with others. Obtain NICET I certification within 1 year of employment. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, smartphone proficiency). Pay and Benefits Hourly rate: $22–35 (depending on education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities).
