MR Imaging Scientist

Position Description The Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at the University of California, San Francisco is expanding the breadth and depth of its research programs and invites candidates to apply for the position of MR Imaging Scientist. The selected candidate will be appointed at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the in‑resident or adjunct series, depending on qualifications and interests. Responsibilities Develop an independent research program of excellence focused on ultra‑fast, high‑resolution, quantitative imaging. Conduct research with an emphasis on musculoskeletal imaging—particularly orthopedics and sports medicine—and collaborate with basic scientists and clinical researchers in planning, conducting, and evaluating data. Teach residents, fellows, medical students, and master’s students. Qualifications Earned a PhD, MD/PhD, or an equivalent doctoral degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, or a related field. Completed at least two years of postgraduate or postdoctoral training and research experience since receiving the doctoral degree. Must meet all mandatory qualifications at the time of appointment, with current or pending credentials documented.
