MIDS Tester

Salary Range: $70,310 - $75,000 As the MIDS Tester, incumbent will support the acquisition, and systems and integration engineering of the Multifunctional Information Distribution System (MIDS)/Link 16 on the F/A-18A-F and EA-18G model aircraft. Essential Job Functions: Manage all aspects of systems integration of the MIDS on the F/A-18A-F and EA-18G aircraft including requirements analysis, specification generation, integration, and creation of integration procedures and results reporting. Communicate orally and in writing to SCS Block Managers, Product Leads, and Task Team Leads and be expected to brief aircrew and upper management on the integration status of Communications systems. Apply skills in airborne systems analysis, development, and operation to support integration efforts. Support, organize, and participate in all events pertaining to the integration effort of the system. Analyze requirements for new software, assist in generating specifications, assist in creating test plans, and coordinate lab tests and assist with ground and flight integration efforts. Create plans, develop test points and procedures, support flight integration efforts as well as post-flight analysis and interact with and brief aircrew. Conduct developmental lab, flight, and ground testing of Link 16 hardware and software. Develop and document test points and test procedures for new software builds and evaluate new software performance. Actively monitor Link 16 system deficiencies to determine problems, and retest corrected problems to ensure proper software functionality. Plan assigned test missions on the Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) for flights and lab sessions. Assist non-EA-18G Test Team members with mission planning as required. Develop Flight Cards for test events. Execute flight Test events. Brief and debrief aircrew. Monitor sub-system performance and operational data during flights via TM sources. Coordinate with EW ranges and other outside facilities in preparation for Link 16 flights. Write post-mission report, submission of Software Anomaly Reports (SARs), data collection, analysis, and posting of data to the common data sharing system. Provide feedback and work with the developers, aircrew, and other analysts in identifying problems. Oversight of Link 16 requirements and provide inputs to applicable planning documents and Test Plans. Oversight for AVMS/CNI Ground Testing of squadron procedure and process compliance, including maintaining certifications and licenses. Required Skills: Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required. A High School/GED with 10 years of experience is required. An Associates with 4 years, Bachelor's with 2 years, or a Master's degree with 1 year will also be considered. Must be eligible for a security clearance and be able to maintain the clearance for the duration of employment. Have experience conducting systems and integration engineering of MIDS/Link-16 on the F/A-18A-F. and EA-18G model aircraft. In order to interact with and brief aircrew, the incumbent would ideally have basic knowledge of operational scenarios that drive the operating of MIDS. Experience with avionics bus integration in accordance with applicable standards including MIL-STD-1553 and systems requirement and interface publications such as Mission System Operation and Functional Description (MSOFD), and Interface Control Document (ICD).
