RN ICU Step-Down

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide expert nursing care in the ICU and Step-Down ICU units at a Level 1 Trauma Center. The role involves utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, administering medications and treatments, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring patient safety and quality care. The RN will also support other units as needed, applying critical thinking and clinical expertise in a fast-paced environment. A current Illinois nursing license and certifications including CPR, ACLS, and NIHSS are required. Responsibilities: Required Skills & Certifications:

• Current Registered Nurse license in Illinois.
• CPR certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program with education verification.
• Minimum of 2 years ICU experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience in Step-Down ICU or similar critical care environments.
• Strong interdisciplinary collaboration and communication skills.
• Proficiency in performance improvement and shared governance processes.

Special Considerations:

• Must be willing to float between ICU and Step-Down ICU units as needed.
• Work environment includes fast-paced, high acuity critical care settings.
• Compliance with hospital policies, nursing standards, and state practice acts is mandatory.

Scheduling:

• Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Shift assignments based on unit needs and staffing requirements.
