Fulltime: Tuesday-Saturday 8 AM - 4 PM Weekly pay! $17.00/hr to $21.00/hr depending on qualifications. SUMMARY: Coordinate the tasks needed to maintain the buildings and grounds in a state of good repair, cleanliness and attractive appearance. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Establish and carry out a preventive maintenance program. Develop and recommend policies and procedures for proper maintenance of the buildings, grounds, and equipment. Coordinate with supervisor on all daily tasks. Report to supervisor on the status of all maintenance supplies and equipment. Maintain neat, clean interiors and exteriors of the buildings. Ensure that sidewalks and driveway are swept clean and free from rubbish and debris. Ensure that roads/parking spaces are plowed in winter, driveways and walkways are cleared of snow and walks salted to prevent icing. Ensure safe and proper storage of cleaning supplies, chemicals, tools and equipment. Participate in tasks needed to maintain buildings and grounds. Report concerns about residents' well-being to Case Manager or Administrator. Repair equipment or requisition needed services to repair equipment. Perform handyman tasks for residents. Maintain an accurate ledger of repairs and services provided and submit to the office by the designated date each month. Ensure proper removal and disposal of trash. Assist with room setup and cleanup for special events. Inspect buildings and grounds weekly and repair items identified as needing repair; replace light bulbs. Inspect emergency lighting, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, sprinklers and ducts as directed. Carry out other duties as assigned by supervisor. KNOWLEDGE EXPECTATIONS: General building maintenance working experience. Function and operation of kitchen appliances, office equipment, maintenance equipment, and grounds equipment, with the ability to do minor repairs. Understanding of and ability to repair minor plumbing, carpentry and electrical problems. OSHA-MSDS sheets and procedures. Adhere to and carry out all policies and procedures. Report on-the-job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs. Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with coworkers, residents, families and visitors. Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, facility operations and personnel. Promote teamwork in providing services to residents and helping other staff as needed. May be expected to perform tasks that are not included in this position description, but which may be assigned by supervisors/administration as needed. WORKING CONDITIONS: Heated/Air-conditioned, well-lit facility. Outdoor responsibilities during all weather situations. Lifting, pushing or pulling up to 50 lbs., using proper body mechanics or available equipment. Bending, kneeling or climbing ladders to perform maintenance and housekeeping tasks. Occasional weekend work for special events, snowstorms or maintenance emergencies. QUALIFICATIONS: Handyman skills. Experience in maintenance or environmental services.
