Job Title: Traveling Millwright

Job Description

This traveling millwright role focuses on dismantling and removing large stainless steel baghouses from manufacturing plants. You work hands-on with heavy industrial equipment, using welding and cutting techniques, hoisting systems, and cranes to safely take down, cut apart, and remove structures and components in an elevated industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle and take down large stainless steel baghouses and related equipment from manufacturing facilities.
• Use plasma cutting tools to cut and separate metal structures and components safely and efficiently.
• Operate hoisting equipment and assist with crane operations to lift, move, and position large sections of equipment.
• Chop up and process dismantled equipment into manageable sections for removal and transport.
• Perform MIG welding and cutting work throughout the day in elevated and industrial settings.
• Read and interpret blueprints to understand structural layouts and plan dismantling and removal work.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when working at heights, with cranes, and with cutting and welding equipment.
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate dismantling, lifting, and removal activities.
• Inspect tools and equipment before use to ensure proper operation and safety.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area during and after dismantling operations.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience with plasma cutting in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in MIG welding and cutting on structural and stainless steel components.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints related to industrial equipment and structures.
• Experience with fabrication work, including cutting, fitting, and assembling metal parts.
• Comfort working at elevated heights and around heavy industrial equipment such as cranes and hoists.
• Strong awareness of safety practices when welding, cutting, and handling heavy materials.
• Experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior experience as a millwright or industrial mechanic in a manufacturing facility.
• Experience assisting crane operators and rigging loads for lifting and moving heavy equipment.
• Ability to work as part of a traveling crew and adapt to different plant environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills to handle unexpected issues during dismantling and removal.
• Ability to communicate clearly with team members and follow detailed instructions.
• Willingness to perform physically demanding work for extended periods.

Work Environment

This role takes place in active manufacturing plants and industrial facilities where large stainless steel equipment is being dismantled and removed. You work in elevated areas and around cranes, hoists, and heavy machinery, using tools such as plasma cutters and welding equipment throughout the day. The environment is hands-on, physically demanding, and safety-focused, with a strong emphasis on proper protective gear and adherence to industrial safety protocols.

This is a Permanent position based out of Tempe, AZ.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
