Managing Director, Campaign Strategy & Infrastructure Location : Hybrid – Washington D.C. Role Overview Support the Head of SCAN in advancing SCAN’s mission and strategic priorities by developing and executing campaign strategy frameworks, building scalable infrastructure, systems, and tools, and coordinating across divisions to ensure high‑impact advocacy. Key Responsibilities Design and continuously improve systems and ways of working to operationalize SCAN’s campaign strategy. Build and manage scalable campaign infrastructure—planning tools, standards, operating procedures—to enable consistent, high‑quality execution across teams. Coordinate with Campaigns, State, Elections, Constituency Engagement, and Data teams to align priorities, sequencing, and resource allocation. Establish processes to evaluate campaign performance, capture learnings, and strengthen long‑term organizing and advocacy effectiveness. Support campaign readiness and rapid‑response capabilities during key advocacy and electoral moments. Lead, develop, and coach a high‑performing team, setting clear goals and accountability frameworks. Represent SCAN in cross‑divisional initiatives and external engagements to reinforce alignment with strategic objectives. Support fundraising, donor engagement, and strategic communications by articulating SCAN’s model and measurable results. Lead SCAN’s organizing capacity development across staff, volunteers, and partners; oversee training program design and delivery. Partner with internal and external teams to expand training collaborations and support shared learning initiatives. Develop knowledge sharing systems for continuous learning and best practice implementation. Partner with senior leaders across divisions to align infrastructure and engagement strategies with broader priorities. Facilitate cross‑functional planning processes integrating constituency engagement, volunteer mobilization, electoral activity, and advocacy priorities. Translate operational data into strategic reporting, readiness assessments, and recommendations for decision‑making. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; at least 10 years of experience in Capitol Hill, nonprofit advocacy, or campaign organizing. Demonstrated leadership of complex, multi‑channel advocacy and grassroots initiatives. Proven people‑management experience leading high‑performance cross‑functional teams. Track record of creating effective grassroots campaigns and training programs. Strong strategic planning, operational management, and cross‑functional collaboration skills. Experience using data, metrics, and reporting to inform strategy and evaluate impact. Willingness to travel up to 15–20% domestically. Proficiency in MS Office and spoken and written English. Compensation Salary ranges vary by location: Geographic 1 (NY Metro, DC and above cost): $143,650 – $160,550 base salary. Geographic 2 (U.S. national average): $130,900 – $146,300 base salary. Geographic 3 (below national average): $116,875 – $130,625 base salary. Additional information about salary structure and location guidance is available upon request.
