Electrical Technician

salary: $50,000 - $56,000 per year

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and inspections on industrial electrical equipment and machinery.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical malfunctions, control panels, and circuitry.

• Install and wire new motors, transformers, generators, and electronic components.

• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to guide repairs.

• Program, troubleshoot, and maintain programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and variable frequency drives (VFDs).

• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits using modern testing devices like multimeters and oscilloscopes.

• Ensure all electrical work complies with local, state, and National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.

• Respond quickly to emergency breakdowns on the production floor to minimize costly downtime.

• Maintain accurate logs of all maintenance, repairs, and equipment modifications.

• Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
