This position will focus on developing and optimizing processes for cutting-edge fiber-optical products, supporting next-generation telecom and data center applications. The ideal candidate will work within a dynamic, cross-functional team – including product line management, electrical, mechanical, optical, and systems R&D, test and automation, and manufacturing, etc. The candidate will collaborate with colleagues across global sites and engage with internal and external component suppliers.What You Will DoLead process design and development of fiber optical products, working closely with staff engineers and managersWork through full product development cycles as well as flawless launching in offshore manufacturingDevelop and improve manual and automated assembling & test processes, such as optical alignment and fixingDo failure mode and effect analysis, perform DOE and data analytics to draw conclusionsIdentify root cause of failure modes and drive through corrective actionsDevelop and maintain detailed process documentation following the ISO standardsWho You Are (Basic Qualifications)Master’s degree in physical science or engineering discipline with an optical orientationAt least 5 years of process development experience in optical products, with a focus on fiber-optic components and systemHands-on experience in fiber optical product’s assembling, calibration, and testingExperience in optical assemblies involving application of optical adhesives, solders, etc.Proficient in measurement instruments such as tunable lasers, optical power meters, OSA, and Oscilloscopes.Experienced in experimental data analysis and proficient in programming (e.g. Python)Knowledge of Design Of Experiments (DOE) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)Experience in project planning, scheduling & risk analysis, and mitigationFamiliar with new product introduction (NPI) processes Strong teamwork, organization, and communication skillsWhat Will Put You AheadPhD Degree Bilingual in Mandarin Experience with OCS/DGE/WSS product development and testing Experience with LCOS development and testingFor this role, we anticipate paying $140,000- $220,000 per year.
