Public Accountant

An early-career accounting professional who is interested in developing a career in public accounting and audit and can effectively contribute to audit engagements while building their technical knowledge and client service skills.

The ideal candidate has:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Internship, academic, or professional experience related to accounting or auditing
Interest in pursuing a career in public accounting
Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals
Interest in developing knowledge of auditing standards and financial reporting requirements
Experience performing accounting-related analysis, reconciliations, or testing

Candidate should have exposure to:

Basic audit methodologies and testing procedures
Financial statement auditing
Compliance audits
Accounting principles and financial reporting
GAAP fundamentals
Financial statement preparation
Audit documentation and workpapers
Risk assessment concepts
Account reconciliations and financial analysis
Microsoft Excel for financial analysis, reconciliations, and audit work
Accounting and audit software, such as CaseWare, CCH, or similar platforms
