Construction Purchasing Director

Purchasing Director position is open at a well-established, large, and expanding construction company in Greenville, SC, serving multiple states in the Southeast. As the Purchasing Director, you will oversee the cost management of assigned profit centers.Key Responsibilities: (other duties may be required)Build and maintain relationships with current and potential trade partnersForecast the needs for upcoming projects and allocate trade partners accordinglyCollaborate with production to ensure efficient operations and compliance with proceduresCoordinate product updates with sales, construction, and subcontractors, managing pricing changesEvaluate subcontractor performance to optimize hiring and retention strategiesLead negotiations for labor and material purchasesAnalyze base costs and pricing options, focusing on new projectsReview plans, scopes, and specifications for accuracyRenegotiate contracts with suppliers as neededResearch and justify cost increases when requiredManage special projects and assignmentsAdjust pricing at the request of managementAssess new plans, options, and changes, and input bids into the systemConduct cost analysis for new communities and address any issuesParticipate in community rollout meetings to address purchasing queriesQualificationsSuccessful candidates must be able to fulfill all essential duties.
