Help Residents Regain Independence and Improve Quality of Life

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team in a skilled nursing facility in Florida. In this role, you will work closely with Occupational Therapists and an interdisciplinary care team to help residents maximize their independence, mobility, and ability to perform daily activities.

What You'll Do

• Provide occupational therapy treatments under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.

• Assist residents in improving functional abilities related to activities of daily living (ADLs) and mobility.

• Implement individualized treatment plans designed to promote independence and safety.

• Monitor and document resident progress toward established goals.

• Educate residents and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and adaptive equipment.

• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility, state, and federal regulations.

• Participate in care conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings.

Qualifications

Required

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

• Current Florida Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in good standing.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

• Commitment to providing compassionate, resident-centered care.

Preferred

• Experience in a skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation center, post-acute care, or long-term care setting.

• Knowledge of Medicare, PDPM, and rehabilitation documentation requirements.

• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

• Bilingual skills are a plus.
