Senior Product Manager, Payments Location: Palo Alto, CA Employment Type: Full time Location Type: Hybrid Department: Product Compensation: $195,000 – $215,000 + equity Mudflap serves the $800B trucking industry, helping truckers save thousands on fuel while connecting fuel stop partners with new customers. We are a fast‑growing marketplace business looking for a customer‑obsessed teammate to own our payments platform end‑to‑end. Own Mudflap’s payments platform, including card, transaction flows, and partner integrations. Identify and execute on high‑impact opportunities to improve authorization rates, transaction success, and spend per user. Develop a deep understanding of payment systems and stay current on fintech trends. Drive product decisions using transaction‑level data, customer insight, and strong product judgment. Partner cross‑functionally to build scalable, high‑reliability systems. Own key product surfaces such as card controls, transaction visibility, and pricing logic. Manage external partners to expand acceptance, improve economics, and shape the roadmap. Define and track core payments metrics, iterating quickly while maintaining high standards. Leverage AI tools to accelerate analysis and improve the payments experience. What we look for: 5+ years of product management experience with ownership of high‑impact, customer‑facing or platform products. Experience in payments, fintech, or transaction‑heavy systems (e.g., cards, billing, risk, financial infrastructure). Strong product judgment and the ability to identify high‑leverage opportunities. Comfort with data, including transaction‑level analysis and system performance metrics. Ability to navigate complex systems and tradeoffs. Track record of shipping high‑quality products in cross‑functional environments. Strong execution skills, breaking down ambiguous problems into actionable plans. Clear, direct communication and influence across stakeholders. Experience working with external partners is a plus.
