Leading the technical direction for Ecommerce storefront experiences, the full-time remote Lead Shopify Developer will guide engineering efforts throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring solutions are functional, scalable, and maintainable while supporting team growth and removing technical bottlenecks. Key responsibilities Act as the primary technical authority during client-facing calls and workshops, providing guidance and evaluating project feasibility Manage the sprint process and ceremonies, ensuring team velocity aligns with evolving project scope and timelines Drive project engineering quality through code reviews, establishing standards for responsiveness, accessibility, performance, and SEO optimization Required qualifications 5+ years of experience in Ecommerce web development, with at least 3+ years on the Shopify Plus platform Expert-level proficiency in Shopify Liquid, JavaScript (ES6+), and CSS preprocessors/frameworks Advanced experience with web accessibility (WCAG), performance budgeting, and technical SEO best practices Experience developing custom Shopify Apps using the Shopify App Bridge and GraphQL Admin API Working knowledge of React.js and modern build tools for headless commerce initiatives
