Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care / Telemetry – Wisconsin

Start Date: October 12, 2026

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Evening/Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM. Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required. Patient ratio 1:3. Floating required as needed.

Highlights:

• Work in a 29-bed progressive care unit providing specialized care to acutely ill adult patients with multiple comorbidities and hemodynamic instability
• Care for specialty populations including Cystic Fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, and post-lung transplant patients
• Epic charting system with 36 hours of orientation provided
• Collaborative, interdisciplinary environment at a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma Center ranked as Wisconsin's top hospital
• Strong interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more
• Travel assignment with opportunities to work in both IMC Acute Med/Progressive Care and IMC Thoracic units

Requirements:

• Active Wisconsin RN license or compact state RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association only)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in telemetry oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown settings
• Ventilator and transplant experience required – strong proficiency mandatory
• Academic Level I or II trauma center experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Must successfully pass telemetry competency exam prior to start (strict passing criteria applies)
• Experience with Epic charting system required
• Core competencies: telemetry monitoring, cardiac drip titration, ventilated patient care, post-transplant care, arterial line management, chest tubes, central line management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Must reside more than 50 miles from facility
