Custodial Services Worker - NHA-NC-Custodial

Aramark is hiring a Part-Time Custodian / Janitorial Worker to help keep a school facility clean, safe, and ready for students and staff each day. In this custodial role, you will clean classrooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas while following established safety and cleaning procedures. Daily work includes sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, sanitizing surfaces, removing trash, and restocking supplies. This position is primarily scheduled during afternoon and evening hours and requires physical activity throughout the shift. Ideal candidates are dependable, detail-oriented, and take pride in maintaining a clean environment. Keywords commonly associated with this role include custodian, janitor, school custodian, housekeeping, commercial cleaner, facilities worker, and building maintenance support.

Schedule

• Part-time position
• Primarily weekday afternoon/evening hours
• Typical shift range: 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Pay Range : $17.00 per hour

Job Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain classrooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, cafeterias, and other assigned areas
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize surfaces according to cleaning schedules
• Collect, transport, and dispose of trash and recycling in designated locations
• Restock restroom, classroom, and janitorial supplies as needed
• Operate and maintain custodial equipment such as vacuums, mops, floor care tools, and cleaning carts
• Follow established cleaning procedures, chemical handling guidelines, and safety requirements
• Identify and report maintenance, safety, or facility issues through the appropriate process
• Assist with deep cleaning projects, event setup/cleanup, and seasonal cleaning activities
• Help secure the facility by locking and unlocking designated areas as required
• Maintain a clean, professional, and safe environment for students, staff, visitors, and coworkers
• Work independently while also supporting team cleaning goals

Follow OSHA, company, and site-specific safety standards at all times

• This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Qualifications

Required

• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to perform physical cleaning tasks throughout the shift
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, push, pull, and lift cleaning supplies and equipment
• Ability to follow cleaning procedures, safety requirements, and work instructions
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Professional communication skills and respectful interaction with staff and management
• Ability to work a part-time weekday schedule, primarily afternoons/evenings
• Ability to pass required background screening for a school environment 

Preferred

• Previous custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, commercial cleaning, or facilities experience
• Experience working in a school, office building, healthcare facility, hotel, or similar commercial environment

Knowledge of custodial equipment, cleaning chemicals, and sanitation procedures
