Engineering Technician - Leeds, AL

Our Switching and Fusing location in Leeds, AL is looking for an Engineering Technician to join the team! You will work from solid models, technical drawings, engineering sketches, and other such documentation to produce a variety of production and prototype parts. Choose the most efficient methods of manufacture, understanding the time and equipment required, and interacting with technicians, designers and engineers to suggest design improvements for manufacturability/machinability. Program plate laser, drill line CNC and press brake machines. Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes with a high degree of proficiency. Interface with other Engineering personnel and other applicable departments to ensure the proper design collaboration and prototype implementation. Fixture design and setup, work holding design, toolpath programming for CNC milling machines, CNC machine operation, and other manufacturing operations. What will help you thrive in this role? Associates Degree in a technical or engineering related course of study, or equivalent work experience may be considered Programming, setting up, and running CNC Machines (or willing to learn this skill) Writing G-code Understanding of milling, 2D nesting, grinding, cutting, etc. Complete set-up work and operation of machines. Use precision measuring instruments to ensure that parts produced meet quality standards.
