Job Summary The Composite Technician I is responsible for executing the composite layup process, including bonding, trimming, curing, and inspection on products for direct sale or integration into larger assemblies. This role focuses on producing high-quality products safely, efficiently, and on schedule while meeting both internal and external customer requirements. The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to identify quality issues, and flexibility to support multiple functions through cross-training. Key Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Under close supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to: Assembly of components and material accurately and efficiently according to blueprint drawings, work instructions, and specifications. Perform visual inspection on incoming products for contamination and defects and validation against Bill of Materials (BOM). Use of a variety of composite materials, including polyimides, sealants, fiberglass, metals, and related materials while adhering to procedures. Perform in-process and final inspection to ensure compliance with specifications, utilizing precision measuring tools. Remove defective materials and report any part, tooling, or equipment issues to supervision promptly. Document inspection results, prepare rejection tags, and report all nonconformances to Production Supervisor. Participate in continuous improvement (CI) initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and operational efficiency, both independently and as part of a team.
