Core Responsibilities Sales Leadership & Team Management Recruit, hire, train, and develop a motivated sales team aligned with Thompsons’ mission and values. Inspire and lead the team to meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets. Set individual and team performance goals based on gross/net profits, units sold, and customer satisfaction. Evaluate team members regularly, offering constructive feedback and coaching to improve performance. Inventory Management & Sales Operations Acquire, order, and maintain a balanced inventory of new and used vehicles to meet market demand and sales targets. Manage trade-ins, sales processes, and delivery of vehicles. Maintain accurate vehicle and sales history logs. Develop and execute sales campaigns and promotions, leveraging manufacturer programs and incentives. Use merchandising and showroom displays to promote vehicles and accessories effectively. Financial Management & Reporting Develop forecasts and budgets to achieve revenue and expense goals. Monitor KPIs and adjust strategies accordingly. Prepare and present reports on department performance to the General Manager as requested. Collaborate with the General Manager to establish and review monthly and annual goals. Cross-Department Collaboration & Customer Engagement Coordinate closely with parts, service, and finance departments to deliver a seamless customer experience. Participate in meetings and strategy sessions to align departmental efforts and enhance dealership performance. Actively engage with customers, fostering long-term relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals. Facility Management & Marketing Alignment Ensure the showroom is appealing and well-organized to attract customers. Partner with the marketing team to develop sales promotions and maintain online reputation by responding to customer feedback and reviews. Supervise employees to maintain a clean, efficient, and professional work environment. Skills & Competencies Leadership: Proven ability to inspire and develop a team to meet goals and foster a collaborative environment. Customer-Centric Focus: Passionate about delivering exceptional service and meeting customer needs. Communication & Problem-Solving: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to resolve issues promptly. Financial Acumen: Ability to read, analyze, and manage budgets, forecasts, and sales reports. Organizational Skills: Detail-oriented with excellent time management and multitasking abilities. Technology Proficiency: Familiar with dealership management systems (DMS), CRM software, and Microsoft Office tools. Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of financing products, trade-in evaluations, and manufacturer programs. Physical Requirements Environment: Work primarily indoors in air-conditioned offices and showroom. Sitting/Standing/Walking: Regular sitting, standing, and walking throughout the day. Lifting: Occasionally lift up to 25-50 lbs. Repetitive Movement: Frequent use of hands for computer work, writing, and paperwork. Mobility: Occasionally bend, twist, stoop, and climb stairs. Visual Acuity: Ability to read reports, customer applications, and financial documents accurately. Expectations & Performance Standards Uphold integrity by ensuring ethical and transparent sales interactions. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, reflecting accountability and continuous improvement. Attend meetings, meet personal and team performance goals, and follow through on assigned projects. Adhere to confidentiality policies to protect sensitive customer information. Stay current with industry trends, manufacturer updates, and product knowledge through continuous learning. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience. 2-4 years of work-related experience in sales or management roles in the automotive industry.
