Maintenance Professional

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The maintenance department in an innovative nonprofit organization is seeking a part-time maintenance person to assist with landscaping, helping with moves, demolition for remodeling projects, and assisting maintenance personnel where needed. This position is ideal for an individual who is dependable, hardworking, and enjoys working in a team environment. This is an entry level or skilled position. The area of responsibility includes Trinity-owned locations throughout Will County.

Salary: $15.00/hour

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Director

NETWORK OR DEPARTMENT: Maintenance Department

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Adhere to workplace safety policies and standards
• Provide quality work on all maintenance and repair projects
• Must exhibit effective communication with supervisor and co-workers
• Assist maintenance personnel with assigned maintenance, repair, and facility improvement projects.
• Exhibit effective communication with supervisors and coworkers
• Assist with routing property upkeep including landscaping, cleanup, moving furniture and equipment, demolition for remodeling project, and other assigned duties
• Ensure that company premises and facilities are kept clean and safe at the end of each project.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Complete assigned projects on a daily basis. Inform supervisor of any changes in the scope of the assigned job.
• Assist with landscaping, moving furniture and equipment, and demolition for remodeling projects.
• Assist maintenance personnel with general maintenance tasks and facility improvement projects as directed.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment while following Trinity Services safety policies and procedures.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Be able to lift over 60 pounds from floor to waist unassisted
• Be able to push and pull 75 pounds
• Be able to complete deep knee squats
• Be able to push wheelchairs up to 200 pounds
• Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
• Operate motor vehicles
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate electric and non-electric power tools, fork lifts, and other equipment associated with remodeling or construction projects.
• Physical activities that could be used in this position include: driving, balancing, pulling, pushing, standing, climbing, grasping, stooping, crouching, crawling, kneeling, pulling, reaching, lifting, and repetitive motion.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Knowledge of repair and maintenance safety procedures

CLASSIFICATION:

Non-Exempt.
