Associate Veterinarian

Ensure consistent, high-quality veterinary care and exceptional client service Maintain a positive hospital environment, medical standards, and business performance Adhere to WellHaven protocols, practices, Code of Ethics, and applicable veterinary and controlled-substance laws Oversee employees and prioritize practice goals Collaborate with the Principal Doctor on development plans aligned with hospital objectives Perform veterinary medicine, including anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, internal medicine, emergency, and critical care Maintain thorough and accurate medical records and meet hospital quality-control standards Communicate with clients in person, by phone, and by email Participate in community events, external marketing initiatives, and hospital projects Advocate for client service and patient well-being Provide medical training and guide support staff Resolve customer complaints as appropriate Lead the team in meeting DEA, OSHA, and company safety standards Perform other assigned duties Requirements Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required State Veterinary Board License Must be in good standing with the state(s) employed to work for WellHaven on the first day of employment Current USDA Accreditation is a plus Proficiency in anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, and current medical practices Ability to maintain accurate medical records and charting Ability to provide comprehensive client communication Ability to train, lead, and manage support staff as required Ability to meet OSHA and DEA safety standards and regulations Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to work in an extremely fast-paced environment Ability to learn EMR and scheduling software Ability to work 10+ hour shifts, Saturdays, evenings, and holidays Good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity, visual acuity, and ability to adjust focus Able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and lift 50+ pounds Ability to work around animal bites/scratches, biological hazards, anesthesia, radiation, prescription medications, and controlled substances Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in veterinary medicine, including anesthesia, surgery, and dentistry, while ensuring compliance with OSHA and DEA standards.
