Senior Software Engineer – Developer The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Developer to support our Daybreak team located in Seal Beach, California or El Segundo, California. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization. The role involves designing real‑time, cloud‑native, partner‑integrated software to support a mission‑critical radar processing ecosystem. Your work will be visible, mission‑critical, and evolving, with ownership of complexity and high impact expected. Position Responsibilities Lead the design, development, test, and maintenance of non‑embedded software throughout the end‑to‑end lifecycle that meets industry, customer, safety, and regulation standards. Review, analyze, and translate customer requirements into the initial design of software products. Coordinate the development, maintenance, enhancement, and optimization of software products and functionalities for systems integrations. Develop, document, and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software products. Debug and lead resolution of issues to ensure reliability and efficiency of software products. Handle user inquiries, troubleshoot technical issues, and analyze user feedback. Research and implement current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and regulatory changes relevant to software development. Develop, establish, monitor, and improve software processes, tools, and key performance metrics aligned with organizational goals and industry benchmarks. Execute and document software research and development projects. Consult on software domains, system‑specific issues, processes, and regulations. Lead software project management activities and software supplier management functions. Track and evaluate software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process compliance to project plans and industry standards. Basic Qualifications (Required) Bachelor’s degree. Active Top Secret/SCI clearance. 5+ years of experience in software engineering. Experience with DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, or CI/CD. Preferred Qualifications (Desired) Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science, with 9+ years of related work experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 13+ years of directly related work experience, or 17+ years of related, relevant experience. 2+ years’ experience in Python/C++ programming on full‑stack software projects/programs. Experience with AWS, AWS Lambdas, Docker, and Kubernetes. Experience developing and maintaining REST APIs and interfaces. Experience with test‑driven development, agile software development, continuous integration, and dependency management. Experience with satellite ground mission capabilities, products, and/or customers. Experience with DevSecOps and continuous integration (CI/CD, Jenkins, GitLab). Pay & Benefits Competitive base pay and variable compensation opportunities.
