Position Description POSITION DESCRIPTION ElectriCom, a utility construction company founded in 1960 in Paoli, Indiana, has experienced continuous growth since its inception. This position is designed to provide students with hands‑on experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, and supply chain processes. This role supports daily operations while developing foundational skills in material handling, logistics coordination, and workplace safety. This is an onsite Work‑Based Learning (WBL) opportunity located at ElectriCom's home office in Paoli, Indiana. Eligibility is limited to students who are at least 18 years of age and currently enrolled at Paoli Jr./Sr. High School, Orleans High School, Springs Valley High School, or West Washington High School. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Safety First Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements Participate in daily safety briefings, hazard assessments, and required training (LMS, OSHA-10, etc.) Identify and report unsafe conditions, near misses, or equipment concerns Operational Responsibilities Assist with daily warehouse operations, including receiving, staging, and organizing materials Support inventory tracking and material handling processes Prepare and stage materials for internal teams and field operations Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse and yard areas Assist with basic data entry, inventory updates, and system tracking Observe and support procurement, logistics, and materials coordination activities Perform general support tasks as assigned Communication, Teamwork & Professional Expectations Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and customers Follow instructions accurately and ask clarifying questions as needed Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a positive attitude Maintain strong work ethic, teamwork, and accountability Demonstrate dependable attendance and punctuality Be receptive to coaching, feedback, and continuous improvement LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT Learning Objectives Participants will gain exposure to and develop skills in: Supply chain fundamentals and material flow processes Warehouse safety and equipment handling Inventory organization, control, and documentation Basic logistics coordination between warehouse and operations teams Professional communication and teamwork Time management and accountability Actively participate in training, mentorship, and learning opportunities Demonstrate progression in assigned competencies and responsibilities Follow all safety guidelines and complete required training Show initiative and willingness to take on increased responsibility Position Requirements High school diploma, GED, or enrollment in an approved WBL program Minimum age of 18 Ability to read and understand basic instructions and safety information Interest in supply chain, logistics, or warehouse operations Ability to work safely in a team environment Licenses & Certifications Valid driver’s license with acceptable record Ability to obtain DOT medical card if required Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50–75 lbs regularly Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive physical tasks Ability to work outdoors for extended periods as needed Work Environment Expectations Work is performed in a warehouse and outdoor yard environment Exposure to varying weather conditions when working outdoors Interaction with equipment and active operational areas Requires adherence to all safety protocols and procedures Equal Opportunity Employer ElectriCom is an equal opportunity employer.
