Job Title: Preschool/Daycare Teacher

Location: KidsPark Main Line, Haverford PA

Objectives:

To conscientiously implement KidsPark’s program and supervise the children in our care. Looking for someone to work a flexible schedule.:

• Foster a fun and engaging learning atmosphere.
• Provide professional and high-quality childcare.
• Help establish KidsPark as the premier provider of drop-in childcare.

Responsibilities

Child and Program Skills –under the direction of the Director, Corporate Management or Shift Leads, implement the necessary services required to maintain the integrity of our activities; in order to provide the highest possible level of child care and customer service. This would include but not limited to:

• Actively supervising and engaging with children to ensure their safety and enjoyment.
• Embrace a very active environment.
• Ensuring that children use equipment and toys safely and appropriately.
• Redirecting and guiding children towards positive social and developmental behaviors.
• Organizing, leading, and supervising activities that support physical and social development.
• Leading  Circle Time and other group activities for single or mixed-age groups.
• Preparing, adapting, and facilitating age-appropriate art and learning activities.
• Completing assigned duties effectively to enhance the overall childcare experience.

Professional Skills-  support our staff and adhere to our policies, in order to contribute to the best possible work environment for everyone. Present and maintain a professional image, which will elicit confidence in the quality of care that we provide. This would include but is not limited to:

• Present a professional image whenever representing or while on the premises of KidsPark.
• Be prepared and ready to work according to your scheduled times.
• Using the center’s phone list, arrange for a substitute when ill or need time off.
• Help with daily housekeeping and maintenance of the facility.
• Complete any required tasks fully and within the allotted period of time.
• Suggest ways to improve the efficiency of our procedures and quality of our programs.
• Share past experiences that may be utilized within our centers.
• Insure work environment safety in the center at all times.
• Demonstrate initiative, good judgment, dependability, flexibility and organizational skills.

Requirements:

Candidates must meet both state and company requirements, including passing all necessary background checks.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED
• Early childhood coursework, CDA, or degree preferred
• At least six months of experience working in child care, daycare, or preschool preferred
• In addition, we will seek people who have demonstrated:
• Good verbal skills with children and adults
• Good written communication skills
• Positive interactions with others
• Ability to lift 40 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or a human services field, plus one year of experience with children,  OR
• A bachelor’s degree, including 30 credit hours in the above fields, plus two years of experience with children,  OR
• An associate’s degree in the above fields, plus three years of experience with children,  OR
• An associate’s degree, including 30 credit hours in the above fields, plus four years of experience with children.
