MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Job Details Level: Experienced Job Location: Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410 Salary Range: $18.00 - $20.00 Hourly Job Shift: Any Essential Job Functions Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door, or wall repair. Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures. Working on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs. Maintaining the building HVAC equipment to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly. Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as using a sealant on a flat roof. Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries. Painting the building when old paint has become faded or chipped. Maintaining files of Material Safety Data Sheets. Programming phone equipment according to hotel needs. Working with and training hotel maintenance staff in a variety of areas. Maintaining the quality of appearance of interior and exterior of hotel. Painting and staining walls, trim, and doors. Repairing wallpaper, carpet, sheetrock, and doors of the hotel. Keeping an orderly and well‑stocked inventory of finishing supplies needed in the hotel. Maintaining a superior quality in the guest rooms. Checking operation of all guest room equipment. Correcting minor problems and reporting major problems to the General Manager. Keeping records of rooms completed. Ensuring par stocking of regularly used parts and supplies. Inspecting and repairing minor problems in common areas. Being responsible for learning emergency procedures. Being responsible for safe operation of all equipment, chemicals, and lockout procedures. Reporting to work for scheduled shifts, on time and in uniform in accordance with company policy. Knowing and complying with all company policies and procedures pertaining to this position and its duties. Performing other related duties as required. Bachelor’s Degree, technical school and/or equivalent experience in a hotel or related field preferred. Must have basic reading, writing, and math skills. Valid driver’s license required.
