As an Assistant Manager, you are responsible for everything that happens during your shift: cost controls, inventory control, cash control and customer relations. You must set the example, follow all policy and procedures 100% of the time, and expect the same from your crew. Your duties also include staffing, paperwork, food management, scheduling, maintaining a perfect image, adhering to standards, providing great customer service, attendance, transportation, store cleanliness, marketing and profitability. Key Tasks Operate all equipment. Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk‑in cooler. Prepare product. Receive and process telephone orders. Take inventory and complete associated paperwork. Clean equipment and facility approximately daily. Communication Skills Provide correct written instructions. Communicate verbally with customers and co‑workers to process orders both over the phone and in person. Essential Functions / Skills Add, subtract, multiply and divide accurately and quickly (calculator may be used). Make correct monetary change. Use verbal, written and telephone skills to take and process orders. Maintain motor coordination between eyes and hands to perform precise movements quickly. Enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen. Work Conditions Varying and sometimes adverse weather when removing trash and performing other outside tasks. In‑store temperatures range from 36°F in the cooler to 90°F or higher in some work areas. Sudden temperature changes in the work area and while outside. Fumes from food odors. Exposure to cornmeal dust. Cramped quarters, including the walk‑in cooler. Hot surfaces/tools from oven up to 500°F or higher. Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts. Physical Requirements Standing: Most tasks are performed from a standing position. Walking: Carrying bulk product deliveries, walking distances within the store. Lifting: Bulk product deliveries up to 50 pounds, cases up to 3' x 1.5', and items up to 72 inches high. Carrying: Large cans weighing a few pounds and pizza sauce up to 30 pounds. Pushing: Moving trays on dollies or pulling trays. Climbing: Infrequent navigation of stairs or ladders for maintenance. Forward bending at the waist at the pizza assembly station and front counter. Crouching/squatting occasionally to stock shelves and clean low areas. Reaching: Continuous up, down and forward reaching.
