PURPOSE OF POSITION:

This person is responsible for the feed ordering and budget for Iowa Select Farms’ farms. Internal and/or external personnel will determine feeding and management protocols that will be followed for each group.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Handle multiple phone calls, emails and process feed orders daily with minimum amount of error’s Be accessible and responsive to phone calls and emails in a timely manner Multitask and prioritize items throughout the day Setup and manage group feed budgets to insure proper feed comes from the correct vendor Assist in ordering the correct amount of feed to finish a group of animals out in order to minimize feed transfers Coordinate all feed transfers from closed groups to another appropriate group Assist in identifying sites needing feed to minimize late order charges. Work with sites to have optional delivery days to help feed mills even their daily tonnage out throughout the week Maintain accurate written and computer records as required. Demeanor is expected to be always positive and professional while being helpful, friendly and respectful to team members and management personal. Daily focus should be on success of the company, not personal issues. Be at work on scheduled days and ready to work by given start time as attendance is critical to the success of this position. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is performed indoors. This job operates in an office that is climate controlled and includes hazards typical to that environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

PHYSICALITY REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. Ability to read and write. Ability to lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must have the ability to sit for long periods of time and to maintain focus on projects such as computer screens or detailed paperwork.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is an on-site position requiring all daily job duties to be performed in person at designated Iowa Select Farms locations, including office, warehouse, and farm sites, based on business needs and company policy. This is a full-time position that will typically require at least 40 hours a week. Additional availability may be required during staffing challenges. Weekend and holiday rotations are a requirement. Occasional evening hours and weekend work may be required as the job duties demand.

TRAVEL

No travel is required for this position. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Bilingual in English and Spanish, with fluency in both written and verbal communication is preferred
