Medical Education Coordinator

Job Summary The Departments of Neurology and Neurological Surgery at the University of Wisconsin, School of Medicine and Public Health are seeking an Academic Program Specialist to support educational and training activities for Phase 2 and Phase 3 ForWard curriculum. The specialist will coordinate inpatient and outpatient clinical experiences, collaborate with medical students and faculty on assessments and assignments, and manage administrative tasks related to program requirements. Key Job Responsibilities Identify program needs, develop unit workflows, schedule logistics, and secure resources for meetings, events, and interviews Exercise independent judgment in developing, implementing, promoting, and evaluating academic programs or initiatives May supervise the day‑to‑day activities of one or more academic programs and resolve issues using discretion to meet unit goals Assist with enrollment and coordination of undergraduate students in Independent Study or other research courses for credit Coordinate program components, evaluate effectiveness, and provide recommendations for improvement Additional Information Work may be performed in‑person at a designated campus location; some activities may be remote or off‑site. Position is a trust role with access to vulnerable populations; a caregiver check is required initially and every four years. Compensation and Benefits Starting salary is $51,000, negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Required Qualifications Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Office and educational administrative platforms such as Oasis, MedHub, and Acuity Previous roles in academic medicine, education, healthcare, or related fields Basic understanding of medical education or clinic systems and the ability to interpret related policies and procedures At least one year of experience coordinating and managing complex schedules or events Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in an academic medical setting, higher education, or equivalent (minimum one year) Experience at the School of Medicine and Public Health or UW Madison preferred Education Bachelor's Degree preferred.
