Production Specialist

Production Specialist Responsible for the production of high quality ceramic, metallic, and non-metallic products. Roles & Responsibilities Perform advanced setup and/or operation of one or more of the following machines concurrently under very limited or no supervision: CNC Lathe CNC Mill Hone Bandsaw Surface Grinder Chamfer Grinder Radius Grinder Swing-arm Drill Press Various Mechanical Presses Universal Grinder Manual Lathe ISO Press Lap Machine Double-headed Lap Machine Polish Machine Tumbler Machine Sandblaster Pressure Caster Blanchard Wash Line Manual Drill Press CNC EDM Vertical Mill Ultrasonic Mill Centerless Grinder ID Grinder Thumping Machine Microblast Machine Manual Mill Slicing Machine Cut-off Saw Waterjet Laser Machine Injection Molding Machine Turning Center Machining Center Horizontal Robotics Possess advanced understanding of established procedures and apply this knowledge to unusual and complex production problems such as fixture fabrication, design tooling, process flow setup, and wheel selection. Serve as a recognized expert and may be called upon to perform leadership duties. Perform basic machine adjustments when necessary. Read and interpret drawings and blueprints to determine machine setup and production methods. Inspect parts visually or mechanically for defects and record results, notifying the lead or supervisor of any deviations. Measure and inspect using tools such as tape measures, micrometers, calipers, profilometers, height gauges, optical comparators, and coordinate measuring machines. Meet or exceed quality standards and work to minimize reject rate. Perform simple machine preventive maintenance functions; keep machines clean; notify supervisor or maintenance of abnormalities. Use the manufacturing computer system for basic departmental functions such as entering part transfers and scrap, and report discrepancies to lead or supervisor. Interpret intermediate control charts and simple capability studies within Statistical Process Control (SPC). Perform other duties as assigned. Work any and all shifts and days as required. Job Requirements Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience of 5+ years. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of ceramics manufacturing experience. Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Able to perform advanced math skills, e.g., algebra and trigonometry, and learn the use and application of SPC. Demonstrated ability to handle tasks of substantial variety and complexity, requiring extensive knowledge in a wide range of product-specific manufacturing processes. Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds. Required to complete Measurement and Drawing Basics training or equivalent.
