Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

JOB SUMMARY:

At the highest level, must have an enthusiastic, entrepreneurial, and committed effort to perform their job in an ethical and proper manner. This role will provide exceptional patient care and maintain a comforting and supportive environment during procedures. The EMT will ensure the accuracy and integrity of laboratory testing by following established protocols for specimen collection and handling.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Collect various types of specimens such as blood, urine, saliva, and tissue samples from patients according to established protocols.
• Accurately record patient information.
• Properly labeling collected samples with patient information, ensuring accuracy and traceability, and safely transporting them to the laboratory for analysis.
• Adhere to safety protocols and biohazard precautions, disposing of hazardous materials properly to maintain sanitary work areas and prevent the spread of disease and infections.
• Providing first-aid treatment, such as bandaging wounds.
• Provide life support care such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
• Assist nurses and other healthcare professionals in patient care activities, including preparing examination rooms, medical equipment, and supplies, and providing support during medical procedures.
