You're the one who measures twice, catches the wall that's 3/8" out of square, and draws it that way because that's what's actually there. Architects trust your drawings, and designers build on them without a second site visit. If that's you, keep reading.

At Heide Contracting, design comes first and the build follows. Before an interior designer picks a finish or an architect moves a wall, someone has to capture exactly what exists today. That's you.

The work

We're a residential contractor that takes on the jobs other contractors walk away from: extreme foundation repair, crawl space excavations, basement conversions, and structural work where we bring in steel and certified welders. These projects are one-of-a-kind and a little crazy, and every one starts with an accurate set of as-builts.

You'll go into client homes, measure existing conditions, and produce floor plans plus interior and exterior elevations. Those drawings go straight to the architect and interior designer on the project, so you'll work alongside them directly. When a designer asks why a soffit sits where it does, you'll have the answer and the photo to back it up.

In practice: you'll walk into a 1950s house with nothing plumb, figure out how to draw it right, and then show the rest of us what you learned.

Must-haves

• You can field-measure an existing home and turn it into clean, dimensioned drawings
• Solid in [AutoCAD / Revit / Chief Architect / SketchUp]
• Your drawing sets follow the conventions architects expect
• You manage your own schedule and hit deadlines on part-time hours
• Reliable transportation to job sites across metro Atlanta

Nice-to-haves

• Professional drafting experience, especially remodel or renovation work
• Laser measuring or 3D scanning tools (Matterport, Leica, etc.)
• Comfort with structural details, foundations, or framing
• Previous work alongside architects or interior designers

Pay and schedule

[$XX–$XX/hour], [XX] hours a week, with flexibility on when you do them. We're starting this role part-time and plan to move it to full-time. Full-time at Heide means we pay 100% of healthcare premiums for you and your family, plus two weeks of paid vacation and paid holidays.
