Job Title: Physical Therapist Profession: Therapy/Rehabilitation Specialty: PT Acute Care Client Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 5x8-Hour Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience preferred License: Physical Therapist License required Certifications: BLS Certification required Must-Have: - CA Physical Therapist License - BLS Certification Description: We are seeking a full-time physical therapist in a hospital setting with a focus on acute care and inpatient rehabilitation. The physical therapist will be responsible for assessing, planning, organizing, and participating in rehabilitative programs. These programs aim to improve patient mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and improve or correct disabling conditions resulting from disease or injury. The therapist will gain confidence and cooperation from patients, their families/support groups, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment. Attentive monitoring and care, along with effective communication, are essential skills for this role. Adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures is crucial to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care. The therapist will provide clinical supervision of assistants and aides and serve as a clinical instructor for assigned students. Key Responsibilities: - Plans, prepares, and implements individually designed physical treatment programs. - Completes and documents patient evaluations and tests per established standards and regulatory requirements. - Develops and updates the Plan of Care based on evaluation data and diagnosis. - Assesses and progresses treatment for patients per established standards. - Completes all documentation related to charge capture as per established standards. - Coordinates patient care effectively and efficiently with other care providers and support team members. - Works flexible shift assignments as required. - Maintains accurate documentation related to patient therapy in medical records. - Participates in quality improvement processes and interdisciplinary projects. - Maintains a clean, neat, and safe working environment, including cleaning and disinfecting equipment after each use. - Restricts access to all patient Protected Health Information and ensures compliance with state and federal regulations regarding confidentiality. - Retains certification and completes continuing education requirements as needed. Education: Graduate of an accredited physical therapy graduate program.
